Outpatient Program

The CREW substance abuse outpatient program provides two levels of non-residential counseling services to individuals who have psychosocial problems resulting from or that may result in the abuse of alcohol, controlled (legal) or illegal substances, or any combination of these. The key elements of the program emphasize intake assessment, counseling, education, alternative activities, and exposure to or involvement with community 12 Step programs, such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous, and an Adolescent Program: Level I & II treatment.

Level I Outpatient Program can include from 10 hours of education classes up to 30 hours of self-awareness training and recovery counseling, including AIDS education and prevention. The client is required to attend up to two group sessions per week as well as at least two individual sessions. We recommend that the client attend a minimum of one community 12 Step Meeting during the course of their treatment.

Level II Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) includes 75 hours of education classes (see below). Clients are required to attend three sessions per week. Each session lasts 3 hours. Additionally, attendance at 12 step meetings is required.

Education Agenda:
• Recovery skills (learning to live sober)
• Chemical dependency (recognizing and overcoming)
• Relapse prevention skills (recognizing triggers & warning signs)
• AIDS (education and prevention)
